I usually don't talk about films on my blog, but last Friday we went to see "The One Hundred Foot Journey" and I don't want to miss the occasion to recommend it to you.
It is a "delicious" movie. And I chose the adjective "delicious" because it's not only tender and sweet but also because the scenes in the kitchen are a treat for the senses.
The film talks about how wonderful can be the exchange of cultures and the respect for all diferent people. The story of one Indian expatriate family who by chance lands in a lovely French town. They open an Indian restaurant just one hundred feet from another famous restaurant, awarded with a Michelin star. The character played by the great Helen Mirren, is the owner of this luxury restaurant and, as you can imagine, rivalry and fun are served.
You'll enjoy the plot, the landscapes, the dishes, the characters, the exquisite treatment of the light… so I can assure you that you'll leave the theater with a good taste.
