Last weekend we had a getaway to Bologna.
Ahhhhh, Bologna !!! "Bologna, la dotta, la grassa, la rossa" ( Bologna the learned, the fat, the red). This is how Bologna is usually defined. Learned because of its University, the oldest one in Europe, fat because of its wonderful cuisine and red because of the color of most of its buildings and roofs.
But Bologna is much more than this. It is a city made on an human scale that can be walked calmy ,because a real traveler doesn't like rush. It is a vital and vibrant town full of people that walk its streets and its 40Km of porticos like blood runs through our veins. Streets full of buskers, fairs and students… thousands of students that crowd squares, bars and restaurants.
Bologna is, fortunately, not on the typical Italian touristic tours and so it goes on quietly with its perpetual perfect imperfections: its narrow streets, its tall leaning towers, its secret corners…
What was the best part of this getaway? The company … of course! Nothing better than sharing a glass of spritz and laughter with friends in a nice city.
One falls in love with Bologna if he knows how to look at it. Do you want to walk with me the streets of Bologna so that you too can fall in love with it? These are some photos I shot during the last weekend… The quality is not excellent since they were made with my I-phone.. I decided to leave my camera at home this time.
