Descubrí a Mama Bird gracias a Instagram.

The bloggosphere, Instagram and the "little-big" enterprise initiatives stun me day by day.

I discover new talents (cooks, photographers, artisans...) everyday. I'm glad to see so much talent and  so many skilled hands on the Internet.

I heard about Mama Bird thanks to Instagram. Opening parenthesis. Instagram is my favorite social network today: I find it fresh and dynamic. Closing parenthesis. Well, as I was saying I heard about Mama Bird on Instagram and when I visited their online-store I fell in love with their products.

Mama Bird are a mother and daughter team and together they have created a small collection of accessories in fabrics that I find simply lovely.

Here  is a small selection.

-------------------

Before man farm the land he hunted and gathered. I think that this remains innate in our DNA and  that's why we get a special pleasure from going out to the woods to collect mushrooms, asparagus, blackberries or aromatic herbs or anything growing wild.

Last weekend we were walking in the woods and I found some gorgeous rosemary bushes, so I couldn't help  picking a little to prepare a rosemary risotto. It's a very  simple dish, not expensive at all), and you'll feel the full  flavor of the woods in each bite.

INGREDIENTES:

400 gr. de arroz
1 cebolla
1 diente de ajo
vermouth negro
caldo de verduras
romero fresco
180 gr de queso fresco tipo Philadelphia
queso Parmesano rallado
pimienta
sal
aceite de oliva

PROCEDIEMIENTO:

1 onion
1 clove of garlic

salt
olive oil

DIRECTIONS:
  • Preheat the broth and set it aside keeping it hot so that it is ready to use.
  • Chop the rosemary and set aside.
  • In a large saucepan poach the clove of garlic chopped in four pieces and the diced onion.
  • When the onion is soft pour in some black vermouth and cook allowing the alcohol to evaporate.
  • Add the rice and stir for a minute or two in order to toast it.
  • Add the boiling broth little by little. Add a ladleful of broth every time it has been absorbed by the rice.
  • Add the chopped rosemary with the last ladlefuls of broth.

felicidad junto al mar - happines by the sea

----------------

I was born close to the sea, I live close to the sea and I need it as the water I drink, the air I breathe and the light that lights me everyday. I can't imagine living far from it.

I love the sea and the beach during the low season, above all during the spring, when the weather is nice but the beach is still deserted of turists and umbrellas.

It's not spring yet, but during the last weekebd this whimsical March gave us a foretaste nof it and the weather was so wonderful that we run towards the "Gola del Ter" beach, close to our home.

We spent a long time admiring the beauty of that seascape which despite the fact of being well know by us, it is still able to suprise us with its colors, its light, its parfums and its peace.

We spent a long time admiring it and meditating, but also laughing and jumping for joy.

receta: buñuelos de maíz - recipe corn fritters

corn fritters

Maybe the Internet has become the best and  biggest cooking school in the world. Everyday thousands of recipes, tips, photos, videos and tutorials are shared between amateurs and professionals. A real wonder for the stove-lovers.

I've recently found a recipe on KIN community channel (HERE). It seemed so delicious and easy to make that I made it the first chance I had.

We loved the result and I think it is going to be part of my own repertory since I think it is a gorgeous snack and a very good option for a buffet or a picnic.

abrazos // hugs

Me gusta observar.

----------------

I love to observe. I like to be just an observer and to be conscious of what's happening around me. The fruit of these observations are reflections such as the one I will share with you today.

Have you realized that human beings always search desperately for the contact of others?

In these times of Facebook, blogs, Instagram (please, add to this virtual world list whatever you want) there are certain things that never change. In moments of deep and real happiness or sadness, we, those technological versions of humans which we have become, through ourselves into the arms of the nearest person to us.

Few things are more comforting than a good hug. It's a precious moment of communion not only between two bodies but also between two souls. That's why most of the time we don't need to speak, since there are hugs that contain all the words of the dictionary.

Today I would like to reclaim:
 passionate
sincere
friendly
thankful
joyful
comforting
healing
reconciliation
welcome
farewell
congratulations...

HUGS

...and all those that are...
given by mum and dad
given by siblings who adore each other
given by your friend, who's the One
the one you give to your pet... who loves you wholeheartedly

HAVE A NICE DAY AND A BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG HUG!!!!

Libros: Quello che piace a Irene // Books: Quello che piace a Irene

Irene Berni, her husband, Paolo, and her parents manage the Valdirose, a charming B&B near Firenze. It's a cozy place that exudes elegance and serenity. Irene has captured all this and more in her first cookbook: "Quello che piace a Irene" (Ed. Guido Tomasi)

But  "Quello che piace a Irene" is not only a cookbook. It's also poetry and sensibility.

Luscious recipes, delicate and romantic table settings and magic everywhere. She's also a brilliant photographer and she shows us her particular way of seeing the world through her recipes and photos.

A beloved friend of mine sent me this book some weeks ago and it arrived last Friday. I was so excited that it was like a Christmas morning.
